The Dwell on Design convention showcases the year’s best and brightest products, services, and thought leaders in the modern design movement. Being a large fan myself and attendee of the event, I felt the site that year lacked in visual engagement, structural hierarchy, and overall interest. I took it upon myself to solve these design problems.
I approached this redesign by cataloging and reorganizing it in a more intuitive and usable hierarchy with an increased focus on attendees rather than exhibitors. I used the available yellow swatch as defined in the wordmark to draw and expand upon creating a visual vocabulary and applied a simpler grid structure.
